By Duane Barker (La Verne) Jacob Gonzalez accounted for all three Tartan scores, two through the air and one on the ground in the Tartans 24-7 season opening victory over the Damien Spartans Friday night at Dick Larson Stadium on the campus of Damien High School.

Northview Wins SGV Shootout

(El Monte) – Northview beat Los Altos 30-24 to win the championship at the SGV Shootout at Arroyo Saturday. James Jimenez threw the game winning touchdown pass as time expired. The Vikings knocked off Crescenta Valley in the semi finals while Los Altos beat Diamond Ranch.
