Give credit to the Apaches for putting themselves into position to win the Pacific League title. The Knights need to step on the accelerator a bit to keep an edge and avoid a first round flame out. Everyone is afraid of M-Town. The playoffs start this week for Temple City against South Pas this Wednesday…And for El Monte and Rosemead this Friday. The losers can essentially just start turning in gear…
1.) Monrovia (7-2) – Time to re-evaluate. There is trouble right here in M-Town…They gave up seven points last week…Wade Phillips is available now…
2.) Arroyo (8-1) – Sheer terror can be having your car broke down in Pomona, a visit with the tax guy, or an uncle selling Amway…Add Steven Rivera scrambling out of the backfield to this list.
3.) Arcadia (6-3) – This team is on such a roll offensively that it can go for Myles and Myles. It can go for Myles and Myles…Who wants the Apaches in the first round?
4.) Rosemead (6-3) – The way people talk about Mead you would think they were 3-6 and not the other way around. Showdown with Lions this week should be MVL epic.
5.) Temple City (4-5) – Folks in the Home of the Camellias are excited about a playoff birth. But first must excercise the ghosts in South Pasadena…where they were knocked out of the playoffs a year ago by LC.
6.) El Monte (4-5) – Run Michael Jimenez until he drops, run him right into second place, post season, & history.
7.) Alhambra (4-5) – Joshua Mendoza brings new meaning to “Mendoza Line”. The Moors will be a tough team to cross for the next couple of years.
8.) Mountain View (5-4) – It’s been a great run, but for the Vikings and Cinderella it is about to come to an end…This Friday Knight they have a date with doomsday…
9.) San Gabriel (4-5) – If Montebello loses to Keppel and the Mats beat Schurr…SG takes third place…They would also be 5-5…And Big Tony will say no to the next buffet offered.
10.) Gabrielino (3-6) – A long, long, long time ago…I can still remember…
11.) South El Monte (1-8) – It is time to say…SAYONARA!
12.) Duarte (0-8) – I got a cow that went dry and a hen that won’t lay
A big stack of bills that gets bigger each day
The county’s gonna haul my belongings away cause I’m busted.
