(El Monte) – Mt. View has forfeited its game against Arroyo Thursday night due to several players being suspended because of an inappropriate social media post multiple sources confirmed Thursday morning.
Several Mt. View players that appeared in the post were suspended by the school. The Vikings could have still played the game without the suspended players but it was determined that it wouldn’t be safe to play with so many key players out.
The game was for the Conference League championship as both teams were 2-0 coming in. With the forfeit Arroyo is the league champion at 3-0. The Knights finished the regular season 6-4 overall. Mt. View is 2-1 and 3-7.
Both teams will now wait until Sunday to see where they will be placed in the CIF Southern Section playoffs.
