(Bell Gardens) – Johnny Garcia returned the opening kick off 95 yards for a touchdown and El Rancho never looked back in a 52-28 win over Bell Gardens Friday night.
El Rancho scored early and often. Garcia also caught an 11 yard scoring strike from Joey Sanchez with 3:20 left in the first quarter. Sanchez struck again with 1:01 remaining, this time to Javier Carrillo.
The Dons scored twice in the second quarter on runs by Garcia (32 yards) and Sanchez (one yard). Sanchez got his third touchdown of the contest in the third quarter, a 16 yard dash off the left end with 7:58 remaining.
El Rancho’s final touchdown of the evening came with 5:59 left when Sanchez found Ryan Aruajo for a four yard score. Derrick Harshbarger also added a 27 yard field goal.
For BG, Jorge Remigio rushed for 123 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries. His scores came on runs of 21, 79 and six yards. Sophomore Jordan Preciado electrified the crowd with an 85 yard kick off return for a touchdown.
Next week Bell Gardens will host Bell while El Rancho travels to Montebello to face the Oliers.
