Southeast Game Night: Quarterfinal Edition

Chris Solomon is gone, but he played a part in leaving West Covina back to back titles…Bulldogs need three more wins for a third consecutive title.

All games are at 7:00 p.m. unless otherwise indicated

La Serna (10-1) at Dominguez (6-5)

This week Frankie goes to Dominguez. Everything, everything, everything says go with La Serna. Yet there has been this lurking feeling for a month that the Lancers were due a hiccup…and having a hiccup against a team with athleticism could be costly. Everything smart says go with what you know…but something could happen.

La Mirada (9-1) vs. Santa Fe (6-5) at Pioneer

The Chiefs are a great story of survival and attrition. All plaudits and bouquets upon them for reaching this point in the season. The Matadores aren’t playing to reach this point in the season. They are playing for it all. Santa Fe gets squished, just like grape.

La Mirada 42 Santa Fe 16

Norwalk (8-2) vs. Downey (8-3) at Excelsior Adult School

Some see this as a blowout for the Lancers…Some see it as a slight victory for the Vikings….We see it as a great game…NorRock has too much for the fabric softener.

Norwalk 48 Downey 28

Muir (8-3) at West Covina (6-5)

The Bulldogs found themselves three weeks ago…The Mustangs have been getting better by the week…Great arguments for both…But for the first time, in a long time, Muir doesn’t win the match ups on the perimeter.

West Covina 24 Muir 17
