Pasadena Belts Burroughs

By Corey Kwok

Pasadena turned the switch on and stepped up big time in the second half while rolling to a 65-35 rout of Burroughs Wednesday night.

Brandon Jolley was ejected with 2:16 to play in the second period but the Bulldogs responded outscoring Burroughs 36-12 in the second half, while holding the Indians to single digit quarters (eight in the third, and four in the fourth) and preventing them from scoring a field goal for a good 10 to 11 minute stretch. By then Pasadena had long put the game in the refrigerator.

Jeffery Mcclendon delivered a sharp performance and went a solid seven of nine from the field for 16 points with seven rebounds and three assists for the Bulldogs in his first taste of extended action back from hamstring injury.

Nick Brown, who continued his sharpshooting antics after a career high 16 points with five threes two nights ago at Burbank, unleashed and hit twice from another area code in the second stanza, and finished with 12 points. Raymond Jackson came off the bench in the second half and piled up seven rebounds with two steals, an assist, and two blocks for Pasadena.

Dre Spight kept Pasadena’s engine purring in a hotly contested first half, where he deposited 12 of his game high 18 points. Spight also added six rebounds with three assists and two steals.

Lawrence White glided up the paint to jam a throwdown in the first for Burroughs and led the Indians with 11 points. Jorge Flores-Pere added nine.
