@ Tim: Oh, I missed that firing, but I think Kelly is better off at Northwestern either way. I believe that the Raiders will never become a great team again until Mark Davis sells the franchise. Like his father, he hasn’t learned to adapt, and he has hung around for way too long.
Mark Davis’s main accomplishment has been ditching the city of Oakland and moving into a new stadium in Las Vegas. So, as things now stand, he has a consistently losing team in a declining city. But the stadium is nice…

USC’s D wasn’t terrible this season, the D people saw during the Alamo Bowl was far below the D we saw during the season. Lynn is not a bad dc plus he’s a psu alum.

    I’ll offer three takes here:
    1. Chip Kelly just abandoned a sinking ship in the form of the Las Vegas Raiders; his new job at Northwestern should be viewed as a promotion.
    2. I’m surprised that Penn State would hire anyone who’s remotely connected to USC’s current defense.
    3. UCLA should be an improved team next season with the coaching change and Nico returning at quarterback.
From T. Peterson: The Raiders fired Kelly a few weeks ago. He didn’t abandon ship. Penn State is D’Anton Lynn’s alma mater.

If you sre a head cpach considering resigning do it now. If you are an Admin in charge of hiring a head coach don’t wait until July to fill the job. Football is a year long process and a HC needs to be present.

Maybe add a name to #5. Not all the people know the history of UCLA coaching mistakes.
From T. Peterson: You’re right It was just a miscue. Fixed it. Thanks!

The only saving grace in this Trojan loss is that the game is virtually meaningless. The thing that really counts is that USC’s recruiting class is just about the best in the nation. Get a top-notch defensive coordinator to replace Lynn and we’re right back in top form.
