1. Dwight Howard returns to Orlando and scores 39 points (25-39 free throws) and pulls down 16 rebounds to lead the Lakers to a 106-97 win over the Magic.

2. Dwayne Wade scores 23 points as the Miami Heat beats Atlanta 98-81 for their 19th sttraight win.

3. The Miami Dolphins sign wide receiver Mike Wallace to a five-year $60 million deal.

4. The Eagles release former Pro Bowl cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha.

5. Buffalo releases quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.

6. The Chicago Bears sign former New York Giants tight end Martellus Bennett to a four-year $20 million deal.

7. USC basketball players James Blasczyk and Dewayne Dedmon have been suspended indefinitely for violating team rules. Witnesses have told police in Spokane, Washington that the two players were involved in a fight that occurred early Sunday morning.

8. The New York Jets sign quarterback David Garrard, who hasn’t played since 2010.

9. Azusa WR/DB Carlos Montiel 2012 stats, junior year: Passing: 27-56-266 yards, 1TD; Rushing: 16-97 yards 1TD; Receiving: 12-243 yards, 3TD.
