(Live Oak Park) – San Marino’s Michelle Floyd struck out five of the six batters she faced in the first two innings and also belted a two run home run to lead the Public All-Stars to an 18-2 rout of the Private All-Stars Wednesday night at Live Oak Park. The game was called after five innings.

The Public schools scored six runs in each of the first two innings to put it away.  Marshall’s Amy Zeronian added a two run shot in the fourth. Temple City’s Haley Roach, who helped spark the six run first with a bunt single, had three hits on the night.

The Private schools finally broke through with two runs in the fifth keyed by a single off the bat of La Salle’s Stephanie Ferri. Pasadena’s Rachel Albright won the home run hitting contest that preceded the game.

For Floyd it’s the beginning of an exciting journey. She now takes her act to the University of Arizona.
