Rosemead’s Joshua Chaidez put forth a quality six inning start, yielding a run and five hits and logging six strikeouts en route to a 2-1 win over South El Monte Tuesday, while Joshua Nava closed the door in the seventh for the save.
The two Joshes also played a key part in aiding both their own, and team’s cause on the offensive end.
Chaidez hit the game tying RBI single while Nava had the go ahead RBI single soon after Chaidez’s equalizer in what proved to be a decisive inning for the Panthers in the 5th.
Nick Higareda hit sharply at the plate going 3 for 3 while Angel Lopez went 1 for 1.
Rosemead, now 3-1 in league and on the season, heads eastbound on Lower Azusa and up Santa Anita to duel arch rival Arroyo Wednesday afternoon before returning home Friday vs. Mountain View.
Start time for both games is 3:15 PM.
