  1. The Detroit Lions beat the Green Bay Packers 34-20 on Thursday Night Football.
  2. The USFL and the XFL intend to merge to form a new spring football league. Details to be announced at a later date. 
  3. The Portland Trail Blazers traded guard Damian Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks as part of a three-team deal that included the Phoenix Suns. Portland receives Jrue Holiday, Deandre Ayton, Toumani Camara, Milwaukee’s 2029 unprotected first-round draft pick and unprotected Milwaukee swap rights in 2028 and 2030, the teams said in their release. The Suns will receive four players including Grayson Allen and Jusuf Nurkic. 
  4. Covina and Baldwin Park will face each other in Week 1 in 2024 and 2025. 
  5. Damien’s Matt Bechtel was named LA Chargers Coach of the Week.
  6. Colorado’s Christian Hunter, who was hospitalized after a hit by Colorado State’s DB Travis Blackburn two weeks ago, met with Blackburn Wednesday and the two went bowling. 
  7. The Chargers will host the Las Vegas Raiders Sunday at SoFi Stadium at 1:05 p.m. 
  8. USC at Colorado, Saturday 9:00 a.m. FOX. 
  9. The Atlanta Braves have the best record in baseball going into Thursday night’s action with a record of 102-56.
  10. On this date in 1976 Tommy Lasorda replaced Walter Alston as the manager of the Dodgers.
