  1. Thursday Night Football: Houston Texans 23 Buffalo Bills 19.
  2. Randy Jones, a left-hander who won the Cy Young Award with the San Diego Padres in 1976, passed away Tuesday at the age of 75 the Padres announced Wednesday.
  3. Arcadia beat Bishop Amat 71-53 Wednesday night to open the 2025-’26 basketball season.
  4. Temple City has started the basketball season 2-1 after a 52-41 loss to Keppel Wednesday night.
  5. The Lakers fired executives Joey and Jesse Buss from their respective front office positions Thursday. Jeanie Buss will continue to serve as team governor.
  6. The Oklahoma City Thunder has the best record in basketball with a record of 15-1. The Detroit Pistons have the best record in the Eastern Conference at 13-2.
  7. Neither La Puente nor Montebello, who will meet Friday night in the CIF Division 13 Semi-Final, have ever appeared in a CIF Championship game. La Puente, which opened in 1915, hadn’t won a playoff game since 1979 before this season. Montebello opened in 1909.
  8. The results are in on a poll on Twitter (X) run by Tim Peterson of Mid Valley Sports asking “Who do you got”? – Rio Hondo Prep – La Serna. 61 votes cast – Rio Hondo 57% La Serna 43%.
  9. The Seattle Mariners will retire the number 51 of Hall of Fame left-hander Randy Johnson during a pregame ceremony May 2, 2026.
  10. The Rams will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sunday night at 5:20 PM on NBC.
