3. The Rams signed safety Quentin Lake to a three-year, $42 million extension. 
4. The Green Bay Packers claimed cornerback Trevon Diggs off waivers Wednesday after he was released by the Dallas Cowboys.  
5. Denver’s Nikola Jokic hyperextended his knee Monday night against Miami and will be reevaluated in four weeks.  
6. The Houston Astros signed star Japanese right-hander Tatsuya Imai to a three-year deal that could be worth up to $63 million.  
7. Northwestern is set to hire Jerry Neuheisel as quarterbacks coach joining former UCLA head coach Chip Kelly who was hired as Northwestern’s offensive coordinator. Neuheisel became UCLA’s offensive play-caller after OC Tino Sunseri stepped away this past season. 
8. Hall of Fame quarterback and ESPN analyst Troy Aikman will act as a consultant to the Miami Dolphins to advise on their search for a general manager. 
9. Utah offensive coordinator Jason Beck is joining Kyle Whittingham’s staff at Michigan as OC.
