(Burbank) – The Burbank Bulldogs came from behind to defeat the visiting Golden Valley Grizzlies, 22-15, Thursday evening at Burbank’s Kemp-Kallem Field.
After a scoreless first quarter, Golden Valley got on the board when quarterback Jaxon Ray scored on a one-yard touchdown blast. The extra point was added by Rudi Perez-Godina, making the score 7-0 with 11:22 remaining in the opening half.

The Grizzlies took the lead in the third period, when running back Cornell Glass scored on a two-yard pop. The two-point conversion was added by Aaron McCormick, making the score 15-7 as the third period came to an end.
Burbank tied the contest early in the fourth quarter, when quarterback Damian Corona connected with tight end Kaylem Valencia for a 20-yard touchdown. Corona added the two-point conversion tying the score at 15 with 11:54 remaining in the contest.
The Bulldogs cashed in the winning score a few minutes later, when Wells scored his second touchdown of the evening on a three-yard rush. A second Brutayan PAT made the score 22-15 with 6:19 remaining in the contest.
Wells finished the evening with 169 yards on 27 carries, with two scores.
The Bulldogs will attempt to make it two in a row next Friday, when they host the Birmingham Patriots. Golden Valley looks for its third win of the season as Grizzlies host the Saugus Centurions.
It could have been a better performance if they played better in the 1st half, but man they were clutch in the 4th quarter.
