Cougars Smacked in Seventh; Split With Biola

By Tim Peterson (Azusa) – Azusa Pacific had a one-run lead heading into the seventh inning but gave up four runs on back-to-back home runs and fell to Biola 9-6 Saturday at the Cougar Baseball Complex. With the loss the Cougars split a doubleheader as well as the four game series with the Eagles.

APU Football Returns, But Drops to D-3

Azusa Pacific University announced the return of its football program in a news release on Monday morning.

Trojans Honing in on ’26 Class

By Tim Peterson USC already has the number one ranked recruiting class for 2026. With GM Chad Bowden leading the charge the Trojans have secured 14 commitments with nine of them being from California. Now they are close to getting another big name in the fold.

Cougars Complete Sweep of Vanguard

By Tim Peterson (Azusa) – Casey Spencer threw six scoreless innings and allowed just two hits as Azusa Pacific shut out Vanguard 7-0 Saturday to sweep a doubleheader. With the win the Cougars also completed a four-game sweep of Vanguard at the Cougar Baseball Complex.

Cougars Come Up Short in the End

By Tim Peterson (Azusa) – Azusa Pacific, 12-14 overall coming into the game, stayed with Biola (21-6) coming in, through the first 36 minutes but fell short in the last four in a 77-72 loss to the Eagles Thursday night at Felix Event Center.

The Bruin Beat: 2/26/2025

The 2024 season ended, UCLA was 5-7 and suddenly the Bruins didn’t have a starting quarterback. Ethan Garbers graduated and took his 2,727 yards and 16 touchdowns with him. Former Inglewood star Justyn Martin, a sophomore who was the heir apparent, said no thank you and transferred to Maryland.
