San Dimas running back Jake Payton
With a little less talent in the San Dimas backfield, Payton could be a 3,000 yard back. As it is he led his division in rushing with 1,658 yards but was only tenth in number of carries with 161. Only once did he have over 20 carries (21 vs. Bonita) [...]
From left to right Jake Barbosa, Justin Bugh, Cody McNeal and Jake Payton get ready before the battle
You can use all the cliches. It was a game that had a little bit of everything. It’s a shame somebody had to lose. Both teams left everything on the field. They showed a lot of heart. It [...]
2012 Smudge Pot belongs to the Saints
(Citrus College)- Andrew Espinoza scored from eight yards out with 2:00 left in the fourth quarter and Erick Ware calmly booted home the extra point to give San Dimas a remarkable 37-36 win over Bonita Thursday night to capture the Smudgepot. The Bearcats had one last gasp but a 49 yard field goal attempt [...]
Ready or not it’s here. For the first time in recent memory the football season kicks off on August 23. Have all the coaching vacancies even been filled yet? Have all the transfers been approved? Have all the transfers been completed?
Actually the season kicked off Saturday night when Crespi traveled to Arizona and beat [...]

The Apaches return to the field in early August to prepare for their home opener against Rio Hondo [...]

(Azusa)- “You know who 87 is right?” Mid Valley Sports’ Tim Peterson said as the Azusa Pacific inter-squad scrimmage in March concluded. “That’s Kevin Kolbeck.”
When last seen on a football field Kevin Kolbeck was scoring a touchdown every 4.5 receptions and averaging 21-yards per grab for the San Dimas Saints in 2010.
My apologies to Blue State…but I’ve had a come to sabermetrics moment…I believe in moneyball…
I cannot see the Ravens beating the Patriots tomorrow. In fact if they do, I will use that horrible high school picture of me (the one that makes me look like “Screech”) for a month on my column.
San Dimas [...]

(Azusa) – Domonic Jollevet rushed for 210 yards and two touchdowns to lead San Dimas to a 31-21 win over San Marino Thursday night in the first round of the CIF Mid-Valley Division playoffs at Citrus College.
Jollevet had only three carries in the first half but exploded in the second half for touchdown runs of [...]
