By Tim Peterson (Temple City) – Yuji Sakane threw six innings and allowed one run as Temple City beat Monrovia 2-1 Wednesday in Rio Hondo League action.
So Temple City isn’t folding its football program. Great news. By hiring an on campus teacher as the head coach the administration has at least shown that they are interested in creating some consistency and some interest in a program that desperately needs it.

By Tim Peterson Wildcats Close at Pioneer In what could be the last major local passing league tournament of the summer last Saturday, Monrovia advanced to the finals where the Wildcats lost LA High. Monrovia receiver Michael Washington, a junior, was named the MVP of the tourney.

By Tim Peterson (South El Monte) – Former San Marino/Temple City head coach Mike Mooney is back in coaching after a six year hiatus, as an assistant coach at South El Monte, Eagles head coach Frank Gallardo confirmed Thursday.
