Late Score Lifts Apaches; Elias Gets First Win

By Tim Peterson (El Monte) – Aaron Morinaga scored twice for Arcadia including a five-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to lift the Apaches to a 13-6 win over Arroyo Friday night at B.L. Bergstrom Stadium.

Arriaza Amazin’ as Spartans Roll

Gonzalez Santa Fe Springs—The St. Paul Swordsmen struck first against the visiting Damien Spartans Friday night at St. Paul High School but then watched Isaiah Arriaza, who threw three touchdown passes in the contest, lead his offense to three consecutive scores and ultimately secure the 37-10 win over St. Paul. 

Temple City Beats Alhambra with Big First Half

By Ron Vrooman (Monrovia) – The Temple City Rams scored on their first four possessions to take a 28-0 halftime lead before settling for a 28-14 win over the Alhambra Moors in a game played Friday night at Monrovia High School.   

Lancers Fall to Scripps Ranch

St. Paul is Back; Beats Bishop Amat

By Tim Peterson (Santa Fe Springs) – St. Paul scored first and never relinquished the lead and went on to beat Bishop Amat 21-12 Friday night at The Pit at St. Paul.

Tigers Deny Elias in Arcadia Debut

Gonzalez South Pasadena — The South Pasadena Tigers went into halftime down 6-0 against visiting Arcadia Friday night at Ray Solari Stadium but then rattled off 21 straight points led by both Trey Freking and David Ortega, who combined for 230 yards and three touchdowns in their 21-6 Week One win.
