Good Morning!

T-Minus-37 until Manny Ramirez returns to Dodgers lineup

Not a bad deal for the Dodgers, take the night off and increase your lead to a full nine games…

Obligatory Scanlan question of the day: Why is it during the steroid era we saw an increase in everything but no player ever really flirted with hitting .400? Cleveland’s Victor Martinez is currently hitting four out of ten, but Tony Gwynn is the last one to take a serious run at it in the strike year of 1994.

Go Denver!

Maybe its because I’ve had an extended look at him, but I need to retract what I said previously about Carmelo Anthony…Dude, can ball.

Alex English was a scorer for Denver, but he wasn’t explosive like Anthony or David Thompson…

Anybody out there remember David Thompson?

The Trevor Ariza dunk, last night, midway through the third quarter was awesome. If you are an old fan of Jim Hill’s Sunday Sports Final, then you would remember the opening montage featuring a clip of “Jellybean” Joe Bryant (Kobe’s dad) delivering a similar rim wrecker…

I liked the NBA better when they showed the starting lineups…

Jake Peavy needs to have his head examined. I can understand liking southern California, but to turn down an opportunity to get out of a Padres uniform and go to a playoff contender in Chicago…well, that makes you certifiable…

The White Sox were so upset about not getting Peavy they lost to the Twins 20-1…

Ooooh…the Yankees have won nine straight…I’m shaking, I’m shaking…

The Sacred Heart of Jesus Comets were seriously outmatched against South El Monte yesterday…

Tip a cap, if you are wearing one, to Arroyo for getting the win in Hemet…

This is borderline heresy but I love the way the Angels keep on getting along…then again lets remember the roots of their Manager…

Enjoyed spending time with Brian Zavala at Wilson yesterday (see story)…but trying to get there made me feel like a contestant on the Amazing Race…the only thing missing was my wife to yell at…

Okay, lets not start getting crazy just yet. Had a Temple City fan comment to me that Hitchcock Stadium is going to be a tough place to get a ticket this fall.

I love the enthusiasm, and TC fans should be excited about Coach White, but give the dude some air…Arroyo is not going to be a pushover, neither is Arcadia, Rosemead, Monrovia, San Marino…
