Bishop Diego (11-0, Tri-Valley #1) at Village Christian (7-4, Olympic #2)
On the road again, Cardinals can’t wait to get on the road again. Bishop Diego saw little resistance from South Torrance but should expect a little more from the Crusaders. Village ran over Bishop Montgomery but shouldn’t expect to have the same result against this Bishop. Cardinals ground attack will overwhelm and Christian Pearson and Nolan Tooley on defense will impose their will.

Whittier Christian (8-3, Olympic #1) at Nordhoff (10-1, Tri-Valley #2)
Long road trips are nothing new for the Heralds but traveling to play a team like Nordhoff is. Putting aside the sideline antics, the Rangers are a physical, talented group and haven’t lost a home game in their last 10. To have a shot Adrian Roybal and the Herald secondary will need to contain Rangers Jake Boyd and Eric Lara and the offense will need to go vertical. Rangers advance.

North Torrance (9-2, Pioneer #1) at Gladstone (10-1, Montview #1)
Kevin Amezquita ran wild over Mary Star with close to 300 yards and four touchdowns while North pitched a shutout against Oak Park. The Gladiators will need more than just Amezquita if they are going to have a chance. The Saxons front seven on defense is loaded with bad dudes. It has been a nice bounce back season for Gladstone but the Albert Sanchez era ends for the Gladiators Friday night.

Compton Centennial (4-7, Pioneer at large) at El Segundo (7-4, Pioneer #2)
Previous Meeting: Centennial 27-14 (on the field, forfeit loss)
Centennial squeaked by La Salle 12-10 and El Segundo manhandled La Puente 31-7. These two teams know each other well having split their last two meetings on the field. The Apaches have an ax to grind having the win on the field three weeks ago taken away from them. The Eagles on the other hand are relishing a shot at redemption. A shot at hosting a semi-final game is on the line for both teams. Centennial proves the earlier victory was no fluke.
