  1. The Florida Panthers beat the Edmonton Oliers 2-1 Monday night in Game 7 to win the Stanley Cup Final. It was the first Stanley Cup in franchise history for the Panthers. 
  2. Tennessee beat Texas A&M 6-5 Monday night to win the College World Series title in three games. 
  3. Edmonton’s Connor McDavid won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player in the 2024 post season despite playing for the losing team in the final. 
  4. New York Mets reliever Edwin Diaz was suspended for ten games for violating prohibitions on foreign substances. 
  5. Charter Oak will have a quarterback, Corin Berry, who committed to Boston College and a receiver, Legend Lyons, who committed to Minnesota when the season kicks off in August. 
  6. “After spending a short time at Damien, ‘25 WR Caleb Calvin is transferring to Don Lugo High School.” -MysteryMan on Twitter (X). 
  7. JJ Redick was officially introduced as the Lakers head coach Monday and dropped an F-bomb at the press conference. In response to a question about any misconceptions about him that he noticed in the coverage of his candidacy, Redick said, “I really don’t give a f—. Like, honestly, I want to coach the Lakers. I want to coach the team. I don’t want to dispel anything.”
  8. Former Detroit Lions running back/Hall of Famer Barry Sanders experienced a heart related health scare last weekend. Sanders described the experience as “unexpected” and “a reminder of the importance of staying vigilant about our physical well-being, even when we are feeling fine.”
  9. According to reports the Lakers are committed to signing LeBron James to a three-year, $162 million max contract. James would make $58 million in the third year when he turns 41 years old. 
  10. On this date in 2003 the Cleveland Cavaliers selected LeBron James with the first overall pick in the NBA draft.

    LeBron is loved only by LeBron. Has no one else noticed that this “king” has definitely lost a step in his old age? How long can this superstar thing be dragged out?

    LeBron is the road block. He will never be loved in L.A. like Magic & Kobe were.
