(Burbank) – Laron Johnson has stepped down as the head football coach at Burroughs after just one season he confirmed late Friday.

The Bears finished 6-4 overall this season and 4-3 in the Pacific, which was good enough for a three-way tie with Pasadena and Crescenta Valley. But the Bears missed the playoffs.

Johnson has had previous head coaching stops at Temple City and La Puente.

“After careful thought I’ve decided it’s time to move on. I’m currently exploring a few opportunities but haven’t committed anywhere just yet,” Johnson said.

Burroughs will begin the search for a new head coach effective immediately.

It was 4 years with three different schools. But it’s always two sides to the story.
