(West Covina) – Isaac Medina buried a three-pointer with 40 seconds left to break a tie and South Hills held on to beat West Covina 51-46 Tuesday night to claim the Kings of Cameron game on the basketball court.
After West Covina missed a three of its own Medina sank two free throws with four seconds left to ice it.

The Huskies were down 25-22 at halftime but went on a 13-4 run to open the third quarter to take a 35-29 lead. They still led by two at the end of the third quarter and although West Covina tied it in the fourth quarter the Bulldogs were never able to get over the hump and the Huskies prevailed.
The game was tied at 13 after one but West Covina was able to grab a three-lead at the half. Jose Moreno had eight points for West Covina in the first half including a pair of threes in the first quarter. Steven Julio also knocked down a three in the second quarter to help the Bulldogs to the advantage.
South Hills came out firing in the third quarter. Cruz Valdez had six points in the quarter including a trey and Medina and Andy Barajas each had four. Samuel Barajas also hit a three in the third help keep West Covina at bay. South Hills outscored the Bulldogs 17-12 in the third.
Brandon Kuo nailed three consecutive buckets for West Covina in the fourth quarter as the Bulldogs tried to make a run but they ultimately fell short.

Medina not only hit the biggest shot of the game he also led South Hills and all scorers with 16 points. Valdez had 13 and Diego Rivera finished with nine while Barajas scored seven.
West Covina had two players in double figures as Kuo led the team with 11 points and Julio had 10. Matthew Jimenez had nine and Moreno added eight.
South Hills improved to 6-7 with the victory while West Covina fell to .500 at 6-6.
