(Covina) – Rowland knocked down 11 three pointers, including five by Mikael De Leon in a 41-28 win over Northview Wednesday night.
33 of Rowland’s 41 points came from beyond the arc. The Raiders didn’t attempt a free throw in the game as the other eight points came off of two-point baskets. They were 11 of 33 from three-point land on the night.
De Leon led Rowland with 21 points and was five for 10 from long distance. Jordan De La Rosa scored nine (all threes) and Ethan Cheng added six (two threes).
The Raiders led 14-11 after the first quarter hitting four threes in the opening frame. They buried three more in the second quarter and the defense clamped down holding Northview to just five points.

The Vikings offensive woes continued in the third quarter. They were 0 for 11 in the quarter and scored just one point – a free throw by Justus Peoples. When the third quarter came to an end Rowland’s lead had increased to 19 at 36-17 after outscoring Northview 11-1.
The fourth quarter consisted mainly of garbage time although Isaac Marquez hit a three and scored five points for Northview.
The Vikings didn’t have a single player in double figures. Marquez hit a pair of threes and led the team with eight points, Peoples had seven and Jakob Ramos finished with four. Northview couldn’t keep pace scoring just six points in the second and third quarters combined.
Rowland improved to 10-8 with the victory while Northview dropped to 6-13.
