Here are the 2025-’26 National Football Foundation Scholar Athletes. They will be honored at the foundation annual awards banquet Wednesday night.

    Congratulations to Tim Peterson Midvalleysports.com sports editor on being selected as the chapters recipient of the Community Service Award, Tim will be honored at the banquet. Also special thanks to Chapter President Tony Ortega for 15 great years of superior leadership as he passes off the gavel to Coach Joel Sanchez.

    Tim, thank you for your support and recognition of this year’s Scholar Athletes. These
    young men represent the “Best of the Best” from our local high schools. The minimum
    requirement is a 3.0 GPA. This year’s class has an average GPA of 3.5, with 17 having a
    GPA of 4.0 or higher.

    While I have been critical of the market value that pertains to high school instruction, I must tip my hat to the effort expended by these fine young men. In a world that seems to be falling apart, these are the individuals that give us hope for the future.
