Good Afternoon!

My new phrase is; Sweet Baby!

As in Sweet Baby James Worthy or Sweet Baby James Edwards…

Does everybody with the name “James” or “Jim” fall under the “Sweet Baby” umbrella?

Do I address “His Arroyo Baldness” as “Sweet Baby James Singiser”?

***

Sweet Baby Al Davis must be a joy to the Raider constituency…This guy would give a million dollars and the starting quarterback job to Rex Grossman…Then he would hire Vince Lombardi and order him to win with Rex Grossman.

When they didn’t win, he wouldn’t release Grossman but fire Lombardi…Then bring back Sweet Baby Art Shell.

***

To my Razorback friends…is it safe to safe; “They pulled an Arkansas last night”?

***

After catching some of the highlights, I have to say I love the “Helicopter” at Muir…

John Martin’s departure from Diamond Bar is big, especially looking forward to 2011. Henry Omana is getting hotter by the day, for good reason, but the Brahmas also return Jamaal Clayton and George Katrib to name a few. With significant departures around the Hacienda League, DB (roster wise) may be in the best position to challenge reigning champion West Covina.

A press release from the school says to expect a replacement to be named shortly.

***

Last Add Omana: I saw the Diamond Bar quarterback’s father, Henry Omana Sr., play at El Monte. They both have rocket arms, but Henry Jr. looks quite a bit lighter on his feet than pops…if memory serves.

***

Really Last Add Omana: Why does Omana keep coming up? Because the son is pretty good and Henry Omana Sr. was the starting quarterback for El Monte’s lone Mission Valley League championship in 1979.

***

Pasadena which competed last year, is looking dangerous in a rebuilding Pacific…especially with Mike McKay coming on board to run the Bulldogs offense and harnessing the supernova talent of Brandon Cox.

***

Fast Note on Montebello: Many have asked if McKay’s departure to PHS means Oilers  DC Jerry Chou will be joining him. The answer is no. Chou joined the Montebello teaching staff this past year and is not looking to move again.

***

An engaging discussion with the staff after the show last night ended with agreement that Bonita’s Garrett Pendleton will be the number one pick in this year’s Mid Valley Draft.

***

Probably a dumb argument because I’ve vented often about my disdain for all-league selections…But how did Arroyo safety Andre Kerkhoff not make at least second team all-MVL on defense? This kid is awesome.

Oh I know, they slotted him first team at “all purpose”… His all-purpose numbers included minus-5 yards receiving, 49 yards rushing, and a devastating 39 yards on kick-off returns.

Meanwhile on defense he accounted for 75 tackles, a sack, 5 interceptions, and three passes defended…as a sophomore.

Making him the “All Purpose” guy is the same as making wide receiver Anthony Miller a “Back of the Year”…(Wait a second that happened…)…It’s like making Sudden Sam Torres first team quarterback…

***

Last Add Kerkhoff: I can’t wait to see him next fall…

Rumor has it Jim Harbaugh recently contacted Rosemead’s Matt Koffler for guidance. The Stanford HC is being rumored for NFL jobs in San Francisco and Denver, the Dictatorship in the Ivory Coast, Commander of the U.S.S Enterprise, and as a replacement for outgoing White House Spokesman Robert Gibbs.

However, there is no truth to the rumor that the first thing Harbaugh said to Koffler was: “Hey! Sweet Baby Matt! What’s up?”

***

Stay thirsty my friends…
