(San Gabriel) – Andres Fernandez, who played wide receiver and defensive back for San Gabriel last year, has chosen to play for the University of La Verne in the Fall Matador Coach Jude Oliva confirmed Thursday.
Fernandez caught 35 passes for 545 yards, an average of over 15 yards per catch while scoring six touchdowns. Defensively he was a factor as well with 27 tackles and four interceptions. Fernandez excelled in the classroom as well and it paid off as his entire education will be paid for through grants.
