Super Bowl XLVI: Who Do the Coaches Like?

West Covina Coach Mike Maggiore likes the Giants

I asked the coaches just one simple question- “Hey Coach, who do you like in the Super Bowl?” Some of the responses were straight forward and some were funny. Others were surprising. Here’s what I got…

Darryl Thomas – Former Covina HC: Giants – They may be peaking at the right time.

Jim Singiser – Arroyo HC: Monrovia

John Luque – Former South El Monte, UNLV Assistant: Giants

Jacob Ochoa – Alhambra DC: Giants – I like their run game and pass rush.

Maranatha HC Pete Karavedas is leaning Giants

Anthony White – Buena Park HC: Giants- Defense definitely wins championships.

Jim Arellanes- Former Northview, Los Altos HC, BP Assistant: Patriots- I went to Fresno State with Tom Brady’s sister Maureen so I’m going Pats.

Brian Zavala – Former Wilson HC, Montebello Assistant: Patriots

Brian Tabatabai – El Monte Assistant (Offense and QB): Giants

Wardell Crutchfield- Former Duarte HC: Patriots – 35-21 in a revenge game. Take that one to the bank!

Erick Escamilla- Former South El Monte HC: Patriots – Tom Brady and the offense will not be stopped, 31-17.

Felipe Aguilar – Rowland Assistant: Giants

Donald Bernard – San Gabriel DC: Patriots – My squad is out but I’ll go Pats.

Gil Ruedaflores – Former Alhambra HC: Giants

Jude Oliva – San Gabriel HC: Patriots – It’s a toss up but I’ll go with Belichick and Brady.

Jesse Ceniceros – Norwalk HC: Giants- Eli looks really good right now and my goodness their D-line is amazing!

Riley Saxon – San Marino JV HC: Patriots – 31-28. I don’t see Brady/Belichick losing to them again.

Ted Clarke – Former San Dimas HC, Monrovia assistant: Patriots – Logic says the Pats but I believed we would see New Orleans at Green Bay at some point so what do I know?

Pete Smolin – Citrus Valley HC: Patriots – I’m from Philly. I will never root for the Giants.

Lou Torres – Former Alhambra HC: Patriots – Too much offense.

San Dimas HC Bill Zernickow likes the Pats

Darvin Jackson – Monrovia Principal, Former Arcadia Basketball HC: I only follow the Steelers. I will watch for pure entertainment only.

Bill Zernickow – San Dimas HC: Patriots.

Mike Maggiore – West Covina HC: Giants.

Roddy Layton – Diamond Ranch HC: Panthers

Ray Hernandez – Former South El Monte, LP HC: Giants- I would like the Chargers, but will go with NY.

Pete Karavedas – Maranatha HC- Giants: They’re hot right now.

Diamond Ranch HC Roddy Layton is partial to the Panthers

Zeke Prado – Former San Gabriel Assistant, Dakota Wesleyan Assistant: Giants – But they’re going to have to outscore the Pats to win.

Keith Jones – Former San Gabriel HC, Glendale JC Assistant: Patriots – Probably.

James Heggins – Baldwin Park HC: Patriots – Patriots to win, Giants to cover.

Saile Ramirez – San Gabriel Assistant: Patriots – But Eli and the Giants have been so persistent this season.

Craig Snyder – Rowland HC: Giants – They’ve been my dark horse team since the playoffs began.

Mike Minter – Monrovia Assistant: Patriots- You can take that to the bank.

Matt Koffler- Former Rosemead HC: Giants.

Steve Bogan – Former South Hills HC: Patriots – I believe New England will win but I do have a lunch bet with N.Y. …if that makes any sense.

James Escarcega – Former South Hills Assistant, Crespi Assistant: Patriots 31-21

Michael McKay – Pasadena OC: Patriots – Payback.

Former Rosemead HC Matt Koffler says G-Men!

Mike McFarland – Temple City HC: Patriots – I don’t see Belichick losing twice to the Giants in the same year.

Bobby Madrid – Former Keppel HC: Patriots

Victor Salazar- Schurr OC: Patriots

Thomas Camerano – San Marino Assistant: Patriots

David Mitchell – Muir HC: Patriots – In my mind the Giants should win but something is just telling me the Patriots.
