Temple City receiver Kasmir Khaliq – Senior
Kasmir Khaliq, WR/DB, Temple City, Sr. 6-4, 170
2011 Stats: Receiving: 14-263 yards, 3TD, 18.79 avg. Long- 35
Flew under the radar last year for a Temple City team that finished 1-9 . Is expected to be the main target in 2012 for quarterback Anthony Valencia, who was the Rams’ leading receiver last year but has since moved behind center. Khaliq has the size and speed to make life miserable for defensive backs.
qb was good, the line looked good in uniform but thats it, same strategy w no success should tell coaches something. not enough players didnt help either, give other rams a try , how much worse could it have been? we lost all games do the math. tc needs new staff mc farland u had ur chance, whats the deal w the horns bring them back.
In truth, Kasmir made a couple spectacular catches – and dropped a crapload of simple balls anyone would be expected to catch. Hopefully someone will teach the kid how to run ANY pass pattern,,,since last year he looked a wandering vacuum salesman lost in the secondary. However, what TC fans saw, I think McFarland saw as well., the kid needs only to learn, That has always been the rule and key to success for good Ram football….football that fled screaming in shame from Lemon Ave. Kasmir and the rest of the Rams will be picking grass out of each others ear holes all season if TC cannot muster 5 tough kids to put up front and a defense that does more than sit back on their heels in a lifelong prevent defense as passes get thrown underneath and no Ram lineman can penetrate into the opponents backfield.
It has been a torturous journey of pride-swallowing, general discust… and disbelief at the rapid demise of a football program once anchored in good sportsmanship, high effort and a relentless drive to win football games. A place where the less-gifted athlete and solid student rode the bench as a freshman, refused to quit or back off, then fought to become a starter and suddenly by grade 12 – made the local headlines as a proud warrior. Of course this young man had the benefit of strong coaching, family and faculty support for 4 straight years. Others besides himself had invested in his success and together all would be rewarded – will that scenario ever be seen at TC again?
Good luck Coach McFarland. If you say we are going to run…then lets run.
kid is a physical specimen. too bad he can’t catch. and that isn’t helped by the fact that TC doesn’t have someone who can throw this year either.
TC doesn’t have many weapons this year at all. Valencia’s a good athlete, but doubtful he’s a good qb. if Khaliq is really his go to weapon this year, after dropping MANY passes last year, there’s a problem right there.
the question as to whether or not TC football can shake off last year and rebuild their tradition (let’s start with the ram horns on the helmets again) is looming fast. their offense will have to step it up this year.
hopefully the Rams have someone who actually knows how to throw the ball this year, last year they had NO ONE
Shhh. Nobody was supposed to know about our secret weapons.
