1. The Lakers fall to Dallas 99-91 to open the 2012-’13 season.

2. Former LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson jailed after arrest for possession of marijuana.

3. Sierra Canyon vs. Paraclete at Antelope Valley College Friday night.

4. The Tigers bring manager Jim Leyland back for his eighth year.

5. The Dodgers sign reliever Brandon League to three-year $22.5 million contract extension.

6. If San Gabriel beats Alhambra Friday night and Schurr beats Montebello, there would be a three way tie for third in the Almont which would mean the Matadors at 3-7, could get in the playoffs on a coin flip.

7. Dating back to the playoffs last year, the Lakers have lost 11 straight games.

8. UCLA freshman quarterback Brett Hundley has 2457 yards of total offense compared to 2210 for USC senior Matt Barkley.

9. USC is the most penalized team in major college football this season.
