I barely even noticed that you were away.
I’ll see you or I won’t, whatever.’”

Kick it!

Oh, I’ve always been an Austin Davis fan…And I love fantasy football.

Heard super agent Leigh Steinberg at the Pasadena Quarterbacks Club last Friday…With all of the things he’s seen and part of, he could have spoke for three hours. Really interesting stuff.

I guess I whiffed on the La Mirada over Servite prediction…Hey it happens…but I was right on Azusa, Rio Hondo Prep, Firebaugh, Nipomo, Templeton, Notre Dame-Riverside, El Segundo, Whittier, and Valley Christian winning…So put that in your pipe and smoke it.

I’m not predicting a Division-1 scholarship (so don’t get crazy on me) but I think Monrovia’s Asaph Zamora is a really good high school quarterback.

How much are the San Francisco 49ers paying Colin Kaepernick?

I’ve been asked to comment on CIF’s Rob Wigod’s interview with the Tribune in regards to the football playoff format changing. I didn’t read it. And all I can say is the concept of teams from the same league competing in different divisions at playoff time is not new a idea but an old one.

To me, the most important thing is geography. Draw geographical boundaries, create upper and lower divisions, and move private schools into their own divisions…But since it seems to make sense, at least to me, I’m certain it will never happen.

If the change comes will it effect what Mid Valley Sports does in covering the divisions? Of course. Will we adapt? We always do.

Next Add Monrovia-St. Francis: I’m not ready to make a pick yet…but if the Golden Knights have an advantage it is in the middle.

MVS staffer Rich Whittington is Mr. Affable…Great guy, fun to be around, except when the Indianapolis Colts lose…Monday night I’m sure you could have fried an egg on the top of his dome…And mention Trent Richardson to him at your own risk.

What is it every team Darren Sproles plays for finds a rational reason to let him go?

Pomona getting hit with a forfeit needed to happen. You can’t approve, sign, and then back off…That’s just plan old bad management. Then again this has always been the story in Pomona. They’ve always had the players, quite often have had some good coaches, put the district (as in Pasadena) always submarines them.

Former West Covina standout and current New York Giants cornerback Walter Thurmond, a Super Bowl winner a year ago with the Seattle Seahawks, is out for the year with a knee injury.

San Marino this week welcomes Cal High. Both schools were established in 1954 and this will be the first ever meeting between the Titans and the Condors.

When was the last time Glendora and Los Altos played? I don’t have them playing this century…I welcome a correction.

Last Add San Marino: They have outscored opponents 170 to 41 and are 3-0 this season. Cal, under new HC Kyle Trudell, is 1-2 and has been outscored 120-52…I make the argument the Titans need this win more.

Next Add St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams: I feel a little bit better about them this week.

Really Last Add San Marino: The 65-point bomb they dropped on San Gabriel last week was far from its highest point total. In 2012 they dropped 86 on Blair and in 1955 they dropped 78 on Santa Fe in their inaugural varsity season, which ended with a CIF title.

Speaking of the Del Rio League…is anyone else concerned about Santa Fe right now?

Can somebody tell me where I can find separation of church and state?

Regards:

In regards to the horror movie “Annabelle”: Really? Who is going to put a doll that looks like that in their daughter’s bedroom?

In regards to Adrian Peterson: Hey, I’ve spanked my kids…but I never left them bruised, bleeding or scarred.

In regards to Monrovia-St. Francis: They’ve only met twice before.

In regards to USC: “USC Trojans never retire, they just move to San Marino, Pasadena, and Newport Beach.”—Leigh Steinberg

In regards to Garrett Fulbright: The former Whittier Christian tailback turns 23 today. In 2009 Fulbright rushed for 1,732 yards and scored 27 touchdowns for the Heralds. WC fell to Monrovia, 35-32, in the semis.
