(Glendora)—Gladstone has just two wins in its last ten season openers and both of those came under former head coach Albert Sanchez, who spent Thursday night watching his daughter’s soccer practice.

Current Gladiator HC Citos Marinez saw his team struggle in a 32-15 lost to Jurupa Hills on Thursday night at Citrus College in the 2015 season starter.

Spartans’ quarterback Josh Curiel threw three touchdown passes and used the speed of his teammates around him to dominate the contest. Jurupa Hills jumped to a 14-0 lead and led 20-7 at halftime.

Late in the first half G-Stone’s Harrison Huff caught a 54-yard touchdown pass from David Nguyen, but the Gladiator offense continued to struggle. The Spartans built the lead to 32-7 in the second half.

At different times Gladstone’s defense was competitive, but the offense’s struggles and the playmaking ability of Curiel wore the unit down.

Christian Orozco closed out the scoring for the home team with a 6-yard run in the final minute of the fourth quarter.
