1. The Anaheim Ducks hire Randy Carlyle as their new head coach. It’s a return engagement for Carlyle who coached the Ducks from 2005 until November 2011 when he was fired and replaced by Bruce Boudreau.

2. The 6th annual West Covina Linemen Competition is this Saturday June 18.

3. Dallas Cowboys running back Darren McFadden injured his elbow at his house over Memorial Day weekend and had surgery Tuesday. He could miss the season opener in September against the New York Giants.

4. O.J. Made in America documentary on ESPN.

5. The Milwaukee Bucks give Head Coach Jason Kidd a three-year contract extension.

6. Former NBA player Nate Robinson, 32, had a tryout Monday with the Seattle Seahawks. Robinson went to the University of Washington on a football scholarship before deciding to focus solely on basketball.

7. Northview quarterback Steven Comstock receives his third offer from Eastern Washington.

8. On this date in 1987 Michael Spinks TKOs Gerry Cooney in the fifth round to win the Heavyweight title.

9. Happy Birthday to former Dodger player/current Washington Nationals manager Dusty Baker who turns 67 today.
