3. The Washington Nationals beat the Houston Astros 5-4 in Game 1 of the World Series Tuesday night.

4. The Clippers beat the Lakers 112-102 to open the 2019-’20 NBA season.

5. MLB umpire Eric Cooper, 52, who worked the ALDS two weeks ago passed away due to a blood clot after having knee surgery last week.

7. Alhambra (8-0) is ranked number one in Division 13.

9. On this day in 1921 the Green Bay Packers beat Minneapolis 7-6 in the first NFL game ever played.
