CV is beat up, and has a CIF title in its pocket to end its season on a high note. No need to prove anything to anybody. Besides, their state game would not have been for an outright state title. El Monte, on the other hand, which won its CIF title on a forfeit, can solidify its claim to glory by winning again, this time at the state level.
