(Pasadena) – Maranatha has named Rand Holdren as its new head football coach the school announced Wednesday. Holdren was most recently the head coach at Burroughs.

In 2019, he led Burroughs to its first winning season in three years. Holdren was also an assistant coach for nine seasons at Harvard-Westlake School, as well as Bishop Alemany High School prior to his stint at Burroughs.

As a player, Holdren broke 12 school passing records at Bishop Diego High School (’96) and went on to earn a football scholarship at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.

Holdren takes over for Lavar Arrington who stepped down in May after three seasons and an overall record of 15-10.
