  1. Former El Monte running back Davon Booth scored two touchdowns for Cerritos College in a 22-10 win over Pasadena City College Saturday night. 
  2. Former Cathedral/Mater Dei quarterback Bryce Young threw for 344 yards and four touchdowns in his first game as a starter for Alabama in a 44-13 rout of Miami Saturday. 
  3. UCLA improved to 2-0 with a 38-27 win over LSU Saturday night at the Rose Bowl. 
  4. Pasadena wide receiver Mekhi Fox has committed to UCLA.
  5. The San Francisco Giants beat the Dodgers 6-4 Sunday night to take two out of three in the series and take a one game lead over the Dodgers in the NL West. 
  6. Montana upset Washington 13-7 Saturday in Seattle. 
  7. Downey beat Cathedral 36-6 Saturday night. 
  8. Notre Dame beat Florida St. 41-38 in overtime Sunday night in the College Football opener for both teams. 
  9. Former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle and longtime broadcaster Tunch Ilkin, 63, passed away Saturday after a battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease. 
  10. Dodgers outfielder AJ Pollack will be out two to three weeks after suffering a right hamstring strain in a 6-1 win over the Giants Saturday night.
