  1. The USC and UCLA women’s basketball teams advanced to the Sweet 16.
  2. “I never bet on baseball or any other sports or never have asked somebody to do that on my behalf. I have never went through a bookmaker to bet on sports. Up until a couple of days ago, I didn’t know that this was happening. I’m very sad and shocked that someone who I’ve trusted has done this.” – The Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani in a press conference Monday. 
  3. La Mirada alum, starting pitcher Jared Jones, made the roster for the Pittsburgh Pirates. 
  4. Former Utah State head basketball coach Danny Sprinkle, who just led the Aggies to the second round of the NCAA Men’s Tournament, has left the school to take over as the head coach at Washington. 
  5. Baseball: South El Monte beat Arroyo 1-0 in 11 innings Tuesday in Mission Valley League action. The Eagles and Knights are now tied for first place in the MVL at 4-1.    
  6. The Rams are set to sign former Buffalo Bills cornerback Tre’Davious White to a one-year, $8.5 million deal. 
  7. The NFL will play two games on Christmas Day in 2024 despite the holiday falling on a Wednesday. 
  8. Washington State head coach Kyle Smith resigned to take over as the head basketball coach at Stanford. 
  9. The Lakers beat the Milwaukee Bucks 128-124 in double overtime Tuesday night to improve to 40-32 on the season.   
  10. The Dodgers will face the St. Louis Cardinals Thursday at 1:10 PM in the home opener at Dodger Stadium.

    After starting off 1-4 South El Monte softball has went 11-1-2 and 4-0 in the MVL. 45-2 run differential in league. Not a powerhouse league but man how does Bunting do it every year. One of the most underrated coaches in the Valley. He’s been a pitcher away from a ring 2 or 3 times. He’s always a division too high.
