  1. The Dodgers beat the St. Louis Cardinals 7-1 Thursday in the home opener at Dodger Stadium. 
  2. USC head basketball coach Andy Enfield is leaving the school after 10 years to take over as the head coach at SMU. 
  3. UConn, Illinois Alabama and Clemson advance to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. 
  4. Pass-rusher Jadeveon Clowney signed a two-year, $24 million deal with the Carolina Panthers. 
  5. The Denver Broncos signed free agent wide receiver Josh Reynolds to a two-year, $14 million deal. 
  6. The South El Monte baseball team shaved head coach Michael Gonzales’ head after a 1-0, 11-inning win over Arroyo Tuesday. 
  7. Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball will be shut down for the rest of the season with an ankle injury. 
  8. The Azusa Pacific baseball team, which was 5-15 at one point, has won 12 of its last 13 games to improve to 17-16 on the season.
  9. The Kansas City Chiefs have agreed to terms with European rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit as a possible wide receiver or running back. 
  10. On this day in 1982 North Carolina beat Georgetown 63-62 to win the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship. North Carolina forward James Worthy was named Tournament Most Outstanding Player.
