  1. The Lakers named JJ Redick as their new head coach signing him to a four-year deal. 
  2. The Detroit Pistons fired head coach Monty Williams after just one season. The Pistons still owe Williams $65 million. 
  3. The St. Louis Cardinals beat the San Francisco Giants 6-5 Thursday night in a game played at Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Alabama which was home to the Birmingham Black Barons of the Negro League from 1920-1960. Willie Mays, the legendary Hall of Famer who passed away Tuesday at the age of 93, played for the Black Barons before signing with the New York Giants of the MLB in 1950.         
  4. The New England Patriots signed running back Rhamondre Stevenson to a four-year, $36 million extension. 
  5. The Chicago Bulls are trading Alex Caruso to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Josh Giddey. 
  6. The Indiana Pacers signed center Pascal Siakam to a four-year, $189.5 million contract to stay with the team. 
  7. Florida Panthers at Edmonton Oilers, Game 6 Stanley Cup Finals, Friday night 5:00 p.m. PT.  
  8. Former Stanford head football coach David Shaw has joined the Denver Broncos front office as a senior executive. 
  9. Boxer Ryan Garcia has been suspended for one year after he reached a settlement with the New York State Athletic Commission following his positive tests for performance enhancing drugs. 
  10. Dodgers’ pitcher Clayton Kershaw threw three innings in his first rehab start in Rancho Cucamonga Wednesday night allowing one run and two hits while striking out five.

    He had a good year in 2022 with over 1000 yards . He can catch out of the backfield. They don’t have much else …..still seems like a lot

    $36 mil for a RB that has no memorable impact on any game.
    I might have missed something, but I’m old and sometimes forget breakfast.
