  1. Outfielder Jason Heyward, who was DFA’d by the Dodgers last week, has signed with the Houston Astros.
  2. The Dodgers had the best record in baseball at 78-53 heading into Tuesday night’s action. They are in first place in the NL West, three games ahead of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
  3. Miami Dolphins wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. will miss the first four games of the season on the physically unable to perform list. 
  4. The Dallas Cowboys signed receiver CeeDee Lamb to a four-year, $136 million extension.  
  5. The Kansas City Chiefs waived wide receiver Kadarius Toney Tuesday. 
  6. The Rams traded linebacker Ernest Jones IV to the Tennessee Titans Tuesday for a fifth-round pick and a sixth-round pick in the 2026 draft. 
  7. Bishop Amat at St. Paul, Friday night 7:00 p.m. 2023: Bishop Amat 29 St. Paul 28. 
  8. Northview vs. South Hills, Thursday night 7:00 p.m. Covina District Field. 2023: Northview 49 South Hills 14.  
  9. San Dimas racked up 566 total yards in a 49-14 win over Burbank last Friday night. 
  10. NFL season opener: Baltimore at Kansas City, Thursday September 5, 5:20 p.m. NBC and Peacock.
