Well so does Schurr and Cerritos . LA County teams have an advantage in playoffs vs OC teams on playoffs now due to releaguing in OC . All the leagues are balanced with similar quality rivals and teams have to play hard all the way through . However, I believe this competitive equity model of leaging will soon be adopted by all.
Hmmm …. Not sure or don’t understand why this response was to me . I don’t know anything about Sierra Vista situation except they had a difficult transition with 2 years in double wing then going to spread type look this year . They have a couple good players that any coach would love to have . They’ve struggled in all the major sports lately . Their new coach is experienced and hopefully the program can grow and get better . I hope all the students and players get to know that feeling of success!
playing 1/2 a game
September 7, 2024 – 5:55 pm | Per but is LS a very young team? I have no idea. If they graduated most starters on a team that excelled to their potential winning the state championship , then staff and players might deserve a little break in the ‘criticism’ focus maybe? But many of you criticizers know every possible thing on h s football don’t you all? Maybe I will, but doubt it, research on how many starters are back so I may be able to teach some of you about winning? If they have good amount of experienced starters then you have some credibility with your comments. If not quality experienced team then you don’t have too much credibility
I want my money back I say you don’t know what you are talking about. Putting LS down with your insults? Warren? How have they done in last five or ten years? Do they beat La Mirada? Or have they beat LM lately? I know what you may say: “LM is nothing since Muschetti left (agree program is not even half as good because head coaches Earn many wins for team if they are very good to great) . LS will win league again in terrible league competition. We will see if successful in playoffs. But you do not act like you know what it takes to build a very good team
Legend AND in the 80’s
Sierra Vista has no intentions on making that football program and or atheletics a better place for students. Its been shown in the decisions you see they have made. The all pro AD can not put it together. SV students will never feel what its like to be winners and all the positive things that a successfull program does to a school. If they have another coaching change, it would probably be one of the A.D.’s friends, family or a favorite of the administration to continue to make that program weaker. I say choose to do things the right way and you would have a right way outcome. If they would have played the final wouldve been 70-0 with running clock BG on top of course. So dont play the part Low Pro!
Fortunately LS has 4 scrimmages at the end of the season to heal up, pad their stats and get ready for the playoffs.
Defense coordinator doesn’t know how to stop the double wing, both loses for bassett was due to that offense, 3 defensive lineman against 6 doesn’t help, your hoping ur linebackers can do the job.
What’s up with Santa Fe? They have a solid season and the next they don’t know how to act. Two games in a row I heard unsportsmanlike things coming from SF players, staff and fans.
Haven’t seen MV in a while but watching their clips on IG they need to double tight it and would wing offense. They don’t have the football smart athlete to run anything else. Keep it simple because they definitely have the athletes. On defense you’re right but it’s not the athlete it’s the football arts and all the thinking they have to do. They’re tough kids they have to use that to their advantage and be physical up front and hit like a Mf’er.
Can anyone tell us what happened in the BG vs Sierra Vista game this weekend ? Originally I saw a score of 84-6 posted , now when I look at CalPreps game has been wiped off the slate .
From T. Peterson: The game was canceled due to excessive heat. I saw that score too. It was wrong. Someone posted it a as a joke.
Wow …:.:the opiate of victory is rare for the Titans , but these claims are truly humorous. Pioneer did find some OC patsies to clean up on and with Glenn on the schedule have a couple more wins in sight . This week they play a real squad and will likely be down 35 by half.
Game vs Artesia will be for second place , but will be big underdogs to D13 type team
There are some horrible leagues that 605 is now better than . Cerritos is decent squad and will go running clock in all league games . It is better than Montview , Miramonte and amazingly the MVL which is shadow of what it used to be ! But not better than even Almont , Rio Hondo and Del Rio
Same old Mountain View. Running a Pop Warner offense and playing man to man on defense with those athletes. The coordinators are clueless. They need to put the kids in a better position to succeed.
Long has been penciled in as La Serna QB since the beginning. He looks the part and his name is “Long”. If Bonilla kid stays at LS for 4 years it won’t be as a QB. The Friendly Hills empire is starting to crumble. And if LS is put in a more competitive league. The open enrollment kids will think twice about jumping on LS bandwagon. Which in turn would make their home schools much more competitive. The “Whittier, Santa Fe Springs, Hacienda Heights, Pico Rivera, La Habra, La Mirada All-Star team” wouldn’t be as formidable anymore.
Taking micro doses of shrooms lately!
Pioneer went deep into the OC for its 2nd win and it was a doozy 47-0. The once lowly 605 league is 9-3 so far and IMHO is better than the Del Rio and many other leagues. Cerritos might even beat La Serna. Watch out Trinity.
@ I want my money back.
You’re right. The offense isn’t going to improve like this. Bonilla will be leaving soon. He won’t tolerate this for much longer. It’s nonsense. LS almost lost that game and the coaches still did not put Bonilla back in
Warren a prime example of how fast an elite program can fall. They played with a 4th string freshmen QB and it showed. The surprising thing was that La Serna had to hang on to win scoring only 1 offensive touchdown against a decimated Warren defense. The 2 QB system at LS is a failed experiment. Maybe they should try a three or four QB system. It couldn’t get any worse.
Santa Fe and Buena Park was the ugliest football game I’ve seen in a long time; on the field and off of it. Both teams displayed poor sportsmanship and the Santa Fe faithful had to be settled down by the local sheriffs department.
@yo
Am I wrong or what are you trying say?
Alhambra another loss 0-3 on the field. Losing to temple city is hard I would TC has the same issues as the moors but they looked a lot better maybe it’s coaching
Go Gabrielino!
Probably D8
I know that’s the thing. I don’t think they’ll beat chino
Schurr is not going to be in 11-12, they just beat a d7 team in village Christian and next week playing chino, with a win D9-7 is what they are going to be in
SG is weak stop it.
Nothing comes close to the Koffler years
@The Watcher
Franklin was in D1 city section semi-finals last season and SG was in D13 idk how that equals a “bad loss” That D1 city sections translates to -9 cal preps rating, which would put them D11 southern section. I suggest you do some real research before writing nonsense on here 🙂 good try tho
Ooops …. that was La Quinta toasting Bassett
Would agree to the extent that they haven’t had really good team since then , but decent consistently under Casteneda including playoff win vs quality OC team in 2021 . What’s happened since is a …. complete fall off the map
SG loss is bad.
How bad is Rosemead to lose to a horrible Whittier team.
Schurr gets in the right division 11/12 will make noise.
Rowland poops themselves after Nogales win kids n staff can’t put too much into that game.
Most ER people would not make that prediction, Maybe some foolish hopeful. In spite of a lopsided final score, ER looked impressive for about a half last night then the wheels came off and things went south quickly.
This has been going on since Paramo lett
ER (-25.2 rating) couldn’t hang with West Covina (-2.5 rating). Incredibly, some commenter on this site made the prediction that the Dons would challenge La Serna (30.8 rating). That’s not going to happen, not even in his dreams.
Great come from behind win for Schurr against talented Village squad .
The other games should serve as wake up call for area : Century 42 Azusa 14!
Bolsa Grande 41 Bassett 6
Franklin 21 SanGabriel 0
Two lowest level OC teams whipping mid level supposed league contender SGV teams
Then a mid city team shuts out SG
This happens regularly with since new staff came on at Rosemead two years ago ….. all time low getting whupped by previously moribund Whittier squad
