(San Marino) – Timmy Anderson scored 35 points including five threes to lead Blair to a 74-47 rout of San Marino Friday night in Rio Hondo League action.
Anderson had just three points in the first quarter but heated up in the second quarter with 13 and also had a big fourth quarter with 11 as the Vikings put San Marino away.
The Vikings were up by 14 heading into the final frame but then blitzed the Titans 19-6 in the fourth quarter to put it on ice. Anderson did most of the damage with his 11 which included one from long distance.
Jaleel Hunter added the other eight points in the fourth. Anderson and Hunter were a powerful one-two punch for Blair. Hunter finished with 27 as the two combined for 62 of the team’s 74 points.
Hunter got the Vikes rolling early with 12 points in the first quarter as Blair took a 21-13 lead after one. The Vikings opened the game with a 13-3 run and basically never looked back.
They led 36-20 at halftime as Anderson warmed up.
San Marino finally made some noise in the third quarter. Casey Chan, who led the Titans with 19 points, scored 11 points in the third. San Marino went on an 11-4 run to begin the quarter. After a Chan three-point play and a bucket by Nicholas Chen the Titans cut the lead to 47-41.
By the end of the third however Blair restored order as Hunter nailed two threes and the Vikes carried the 14-point lead into the fourth.
For San Marino Zane Daoud followed up Chan’s 19 with nine points, Chen had eight.
With the victory Blair remained perfect in the Rio Hondo League at 6-0 and are 14-7 overall. San Marino fell to 14-13 overall and 3-5 in the Rio Hondo.
