After a long hot summer Damien is still king. The Spartans have a schedule that resembles a death march but when you have big boy talent you play the big boy teams. Muir, Bishop Amat, La Serna and Schurr have all had big summers. Bonita, Charter Oak, St. Paul and Rio Hondo Prep are all ready to compete and Northview is headed to Vegas in Week Zero.

1. Damien – Spartans are still king until someone knocks them off.
2. Muir – Zion McDonald is the real deal.
3. Bishop Amat – Brayden Wann has had a nice summer.
4. Bonita -Travis Lippert, Joseph Lara – dynamic duo for Bearcats.
5. St. Paul – We’ll know a lot more after the Bishop Amat game.
6. La Serna – Jordan Bonilla does everything except sell nachos in the snack bar.
7. Rio Hondo Prep – Is a Three Peat possible?
8. Charter Oak – Antonio Reasby gets better every day.
9. Northview – For starters Vikings are trying to win big in Vegas.
10. Schurr – Freshman quarterback Jacob Torres is already turning heads.
11. La Canada – Joe Bell – common name but uncommon talent.
12. Covina – Roy Vazquez has made a smooth transition to starting quarterback.
