  1. UCLA lost to UNLV 30-23 Saturday night to fall to 0-2 on the season. 
  2. Former Dodgers manager Davey Johnson passed away Friday at the age of 86. Johnson also managed the New York Mets to a World Series championship in 1986. He also managed the Cincinnati Reds and Washington Nationals. 
  3. The Rams opened the season with a 14-9 win over the Houston Texans Sunday at SoFi Stadium. 
  4. Matt Prater kicked a 32-yard field to give the Buffalo Bills a 41-40 win over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football. 
  5. The Dodgers beat the Baltimore Orioles 5-2 Sunday but lost two out of three in the series. The Dodgers lead the second place San Diego Padres by one game in the NL West.
  6. Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh hit his league leading 53rd home run Sunday in an 18-2 rout of the Atlanta Braves.     
  7. UCLA backup quarterback Pierce Clarkson was arrested on an unspecified felony charge Sunday. 
  8.  Alhambra’s Nero Navarro had 10 receptions for 153 yards and three touchdowns and also had two kickoff returns for 87 yards in a 27-7 win over Temple City Friday night. Navarro had 240 all-purpose yards. 
  9. Bonita running back Joseph Lara will miss the rest of the season with a torn meniscus.

    @anon . He was a very good 2B for the Orioles , who had a great team in mid 60s , sweeping Dodgers in 66……Brools Robinson, Mark Belanger , Davey and Boog Powell in infield
