I -10 CANNOT call it rebuilding year? Why not? Arroyo/ ” you should know you can’t leave and come back and think everything will be the same/1? Are you suggesting the head coach at Arroyo came back thinking it will be ‘wine and roses’ easy? he knows so much more than you

@ Detached Observer: Thanks for the well-wishes; we’ve been putting it together since we got crushed by El Monte in our second game.
Bryan Leonard has improved, and he has a good group of receivers to throw to, which helps immensely.
In addition, our relatively young offensive line has done the job more often than not so far. They’re protecting Bryan better than last year’s mostly senior line did, and we’ve run the ball well in three of our five games.
Our defense has also improved compared to last year, but we’ve occasionally given up big plays. That’s certainly an area where we need to do better, but I’m confident that we’ll be ready for our league opener.

Tiggy Shiggy! Well El monte is very well coached by a staff of coaches who have won league titles in different leagues. Bassett and Workman’s success has been when playing for basically the same staff EM has now, and regressed when this staff departs for another program. Rosemead is , and has been , terrible for a decade i suggest and administration may not give one ounce of importance to athletic programs. They are /have been terrible in baseball too and it seems to me that the principal and AD could care less or they would open up the position of head coach every two years if the baseball program keeps sucking

Most D1 unis getting their players through the portal. Scholies are few for high schoolers today. Helps to have name recognition like Manning.

    ? ? D1 are you sure
Hope you are because it will be good to see a couple local players getting scholarships to D1.. I have not focused on this topic in years, but i do not think , if even a few local players have even earned scholarships to D2 or NAIA in a long time

    @Del RW

Cal ER and SF all appear very competitive with each other . If any of those teams can win both matchups they will secure playoff berth at 3-1 league . They could split with all three ending up 2-2 in league ; your prediction?

@Ron……looks like the new coach is confounding the naysayers and putting a good team together . Good to see your quarterback having a solid senior year putting all that experience to use .

Looks like a three team battle for two spots behind Schurr in playoffs …:. SG . BG and the Moors ..if you can win one of those you can earn coveted 3rd place in Almont .

You might feel differently about D14 if you can get two seed on that division lol
Good luck rest of the way

I said a couple weeks ago that Gab had better program than Rosemead, but never dreamt it would be this glaring ! In 2021 Rosemead beat Gab 73-7 under Coach Castaneda ; when he left the downward spiral began clearly unchecked by administration. 2023 saw a brawl with suspensions and forfeits, but no repercussions for staff.
What’s going on on the defensive backfield ?!!!
Gab never known for explosive passing attack, but averaged 30 yards per reception last night making Gab QB look like healthy Joe Burrow.

Arroyo: it’s not easy to rebuild a culture when it’s been damaged by previous regimes . El Monte has played some good games when they avoid turnovers and might sneak into D13.
The MVL is a mess ; adding Marshall gives everyone a win but kinda makes the league just D14 bottom feeders that can only beat Basset and Keppel types out of league.

Gab staff doing great job and if you can just be ok you will look good in this league

USC will face a Michigan State team quarterbacked by the pride of Downey High, Aidan Chiles. Lincoln Riley wanted this guy, and now he has him…on the opposing side. Game time is a rather late 8pm, and the game will be free to watch on Fox 11.

Well we were hoping to pull off the victory against those Cal Condors, especially on Youth Night. Sorry about that La Serna, we tried.

Hopefully Coach Rudy and Coach Chris can put together a plan for next week. We have to travel to Alhambra to face the 4-1 Moors. This game will have a huge impact for our chances to win a league title. San Gabriel is 4-0 (played Artesia last night). Despite being 2-3, Schurr will always be tough. They played a pretty difficult schedule.

Mr. Tim Peterson any word on the San Gabriel-Artesia final score?

Great game? Whittier Daily News is reporting that La Serna had minus yardage in the first half. After that the little religious School called off the dogs. Oof. Minus yards in the first half? I would not think that was possible. Especially with a D1 quarterback and a D1 running back on your team.

Don’t forget no refunds. If a couple of people in your family get sick you just lost 20 or 30 bucks. That goes in somebody’s pocket at CIF. It’s a racket pure and simple just like gift cards that nobody ever uses.

For those who are inclined to think this GoFan ticketing system is just fine, ask yourself: what if McDonalds or Wendys required you to order online, refusing to take payment at the counter? On top of that, a ‘convenience fee’ would be added to each such online purchase. How would that affect their bottom lines? How happy would their customers be? This is exactly what CIF has done to high school sports ticket sales.

The ticketing system to watch your own kid play is killing hS football. CIF squeezing every dime it can from football rather than invest in the product. The product is the Moms and Dads that supply the players. A better deal for now is flag for girls and boys. ER was smart in building a small stadium. 90% of the seats are not occupied in 90% of the games in the greedy CIF.
