(Inglewood) – Cameron Dicker kicked a 43-yard field goal with no time remaining to give the Chargers a 23-20 win over Denver Sunday at SoFi Stadium.
The Chargers took possession of the ball at their own 32 with 1:43 left in the fourth quarter tied at 20. They marched down to the Broncos 14-yad line and called timeout with four seconds left. They called on Dicker and he delivered it as the clock hit zeroes. It was his third field goal of the day. The Chargers entered the fourth quarter down 17-13 but were able to rally for the win.
LA scored first when Dicker kicked a 32-yard field goal on the Chargers opening possession for a 3-0 lead.
Neither team could get any momentum going offensively in the first quarter as they each punted twice.
Brandon Jones intercepted Justin Herbert early in the second quarter at the Denver nine-yard line but the Broncos were unable to take advantage of it and punted the ball back to the Chargers.

A 23-yard pass from Justin Herbert set up a two-yard touchdown run by Omarion Hampton to give the Chargers a 10-0 lead with 1:53 left in the second quarter.
With 5:02 left in the second Chargers running back Najee Harris went down with an injury and had to be helped off the field. It was announced that he had an ankle injury and was unable to return.
With 38 seconds left in the second quarter Courtland Sutton got behind the Chargers secondary and caught a Bo Nix pass in stride for a 52-yard touchdown to cut LA’s lead to 10-7.
The Chargers took the three-point lead into the half.
The Broncos needed just three plays to take the lead early in the third quarter. A 66-yard drive was capped by a 19-yard touchdown run by J.K. Dobbins as Denver went up 14-10.

Denver then recovered the ensuing kickoff when the Chargers coughed it up. That led to a Wil Lutz 42-yard field goal with 12:02 left in the third quarter for a 17-10 Broncos lead.
Later in the quarter the Chargers drive stalled at the Denver six-yard line where Dicker booted a 24-yard field goal with 5:35 left in the third.
Early in the third quarter the Broncos were stopped deep in Chargers territory. Lutz kicked a 26-yard field goal to extend Denver’s lead to 20-13.
The Chargers then pieced together a 7-play, 76-yard drive to get even. Herbert hit Keenan Allen for a 20-yard touchdown to tie it at 20 with 2:37 left.
The Chargers then held Denver and forced a punt. Herbert then led them down the field and ultimately to Dicker’s game winner.
For the Chargers Herbert completed 28 of 47 for 300 yards and a touchdown with an interception. Johnston caught six passes for 89 yards and Allen had seven for 65. Hampton ran for 70 yards and a score on 19 carries an also had 59 yards receiving.
For the Broncos Nix was 14 of 25 for 153 and a touchdown. Dobbins led the team in rushing with 83 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. Sutton hauled in six catches for 118 yards and a score.
With the victory the Chargers remained unbeaten at 3-0 while Denver fell to 1-2.
