  1. USC lost to Illinois 34-32 Saturday on a 41-yard field goal as time ran out. The Trojans fell to 4-1.  
  2. UCLA lost to Northwestern 17-14 Saturday to fall to 0-4. 
  3. The Chargers dropped to 3-1 with a 21-18 loss to the New York Giants Sunday.  
  4. The Rams rallied to beat the Indianapolis Colts 27-20 Sunday to improve to 3-1. 
  5. Penn State, Georgia and LSU all lost Saturday. 
  6. AP College Football Top 5: 1. Ohio St. 2. Oregon 3. Miami 4. Ole Miss 5. Oklahoma. 
  7. “We’re like Freddy Krueger. We ain’t going away.” – Rowland Head Coach Citos Marinez in a postgame speech to his team after a 22-21 win over Diamond Bar Friday night.
  8. MLB Playoffs: Wild Card – AL- Detroit vs. Cleveland – Winner plays Seattle; Boston vs. New York Yankees – Winner plays Toronto. NL- Cincinnati vs. Dodgers – Winner plays Philadelphia; San Diego vs. Chicago Cubs – Winner plays Milwaukee.    
  9. Dodgers’ left-hander Clayton Kershaw, who announced he will retire at the end of the season, was left off the roster for the NL Wild Card series. 
  10. New York Giants receiver Malik Nabers is feared to have suffered a torn ACL in the loss to the Chargers Sunday.

    The buyout on Lincoln Riley’s contract is $88 million. So the guy is good at something…good at selling the sizzle when the steak is rotten.
