- The Dodgers beat the Philadelphia Phillies 5-3 Saturday to take a 1-0 lead in the NLDS.
- The Toronto Blue Jays beat the New York Yankees 13-7 Sunday to take a 2-0 lead in the ALDS.
- The Seattle Mariners beat the Detroit Tigers 3-2 Sunday to even the ALDS at 1-1.
- The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Chicago Cubs 9-3 Saturday to take a 1-0 lead in the NLDS.
- #3 Miami beat #18 Florida State 28-22 Saturday.
- Rio Hondo Prep running back Noah Penunuri rushed for 261 yards in the Kares 49-28 win over First Baptist (Dallas, TX) Friday night. Penunuri now has 4.309 career rushing yards which puts him 205 yards away from Rio Hondo Prep’s all-time leader Landon Goodwell who had 4,514.
- Fox Sports analyst Mark Sanchez was arrested Saturday after he was apparently stabbed in an overnight altercation in downtown Indianapolis. The former NFL quarterback, who was in Indianapolis to call the Raiders-Colts game was charged with battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and public intoxication — all misdemeanors.
- UCLA’s Jerry Neuheisel, who was acting as offensive coordinator for the first time, was carried off the field by his team after the Bruins stunning 42-37 win over Penn State Saturday.
- The Philadelphia Eagles were knocked from the ranks of the unbeaten with a 21-17 loss to the Denver Broncos Sunday. The Buffalo Bills also suffered their first loss falling 23-20 to the New England Patriots.
