Mid Valley High School Football Top 12

Damien’s furious rally late in the game fell a two-point conversion short. Bishop Amat lost as well and dropped one spot. Monrovia fell to South Pasadena for the third consecutive year and dropped out of the Top 12. Rowland jumped into the mix.

  1. Damien (5-1) – Spartans won’t be punished for a two-point loss to Rancho Cucamonga.
  2. Downey (5-1) – Vikings keep on rolling; Mayfair is the latest victim.
  3. Charter Oak (5-1) – Chargers make quick work of Glendora.
  4. Muir (5-1) – Mustangs have plenty of weapons in their arsenal.
  5. Northview (5-1) – Vikings pass a stiff test with Baldwin Park.
  6. Bishop Amat (3-3) – Lancers need a win this week against Sherman Oaks Notre Dame.
  7. Rio Hondo Prep (7-0) – Noah Penunuri runs for 261 yards in the Kares big win in Dallas.
  8. Bonita (3-3, 4-2 on field) – Bearcats keep on chugging despite injuries.
  9. La Serna (4-3) – Dominic Herrera’s picks derail El Rancho.
  10. La Canada (7-0) – Spartans have a big game this week at South Pas.
  11. Los Altos (6-0) – Conquerors closest margin of victory is 14 points.
  12. Rowland (6-0) – RAAAIIDERS! RAAAIIDERS!

    Sorry @ LP,
South Pass and LC were in an old fashioned run game slug fest tonight. It was as close as you can get. 23-22. And once again LC chokes a must win game away in Rio Hondo League. Only fitting for the last year of the league that it lives up to it’s reputation as wild and wacky.

@RHL…. Using Crescenta Valley as common opponent..::.CV beat SP 42-21 . LC best CV 42-14

I just don’t see it being close . SP had an emotional win last week may be difficult to duplicate …. They have problems on defense and give up a lot of points.

    @ Low Profile,

I tend to agree that LC will most likely win this game after a 10 year drought against SP.
I love the passion that SP4ever has about his team. LC just seems to me to be better overall especially on the line. SP has gotten some key injured players back and having a schedule with no bye week until the end has done them no favors. A few years ago this game went to OT. I am not sure that will happen this year, but wouldn’t be surprised if it does.

@ SoPas . I ve got LC for a pastrami sandwich . If you are brave enough

Great win over Monrovia . They are a team that lost their QB , They are notoriously slow to make adjustments and City section sloppy since Casagran took over . Different story with LC

Kudos to the players and coaches on a big win. We were super confident going over to Monrovia!

Can’t imagine anyone at La Canada taking SP lightly. SP has won like 10 in a row over them. The word over here is that it’s gonna be a real battle in the trenches. Best LC team in a long time.

LC has a lot to prove. Same with SP. Can SP dominate the line like they have the last three years of the RHL? Players and coaches saying LC team is actually good this year. A coach told me it’s one of the most disciplined DL & LB groups they’ve seen. Gonna be a great game!

I like us to win. Home game. Know how to win tough games. It’ll be tough.

La Canada better be careful. Monrovia was 5-0, riding high and got popped in its own house by a 2-4 Tiger team. Another unpredictable Rio Hondo League season to the end.

If Rowland doesn’t go far in the playoffs, at least they have this placement in the weekly 12 to tell their grandkids about. When those kids ask, they can be told that MidValley Sports was bigger than Sports Illustrated.
